Scripture:
Psalms 119:89- For Ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven
Devotional:
God’s word has already been confirmed. There is a lot of debate around free will and free choice, but this is not that type of conversation today. We want to speak on the validity of God’s word and how it is unchanging. When we think of God’s unchanging word, we don’t think, there will never be another commandment or anything to improve the word that was given. When God gives his word, it is for the people of that time, and God will provide new guidance and instruction as he sees fit.
When it comes to your finances what is intended to happen with your finances, will happen according to his will. What we want to pray for is discernment and knowledge to make sure that the things that do happen, are in our favor.
Look up any statistics about lottery winners and some of the horrific stories that accompany a sudden windfall of a large sum of money. Remember, sometimes God is protecting us from ourselves. We must stop associating a lot of money with blessings and a reduced amount of money with a curse. What we can do as people of faith is trust that his will be done through us. We should prepare ourselves to live out his purpose through praise and worship of him, and not of the money he has given us, to do so.
So ask yourself today, “What word has God put on your heart?” What promise has he made that you know that is settled?
Prayer: Lord, guard me against the love of money. I seek righteousness and will be happy with the finances that you blessed me with, for you know best.
