Christians are under pressure. How to persevere with God on your side

Scripture: James 1:12-Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Devotional: It was about 1 am in the morning when I read this verse. I couldn’t sleep even though I had a long day. There was just so much on my mind. You would think for a Saturday, a day before my dad’s 66th birthday, that I wouldn’t have much to think about.

Well, if you did, we both thought wrong. Lol.

But reading this verse really started to help me organize my thoughts and bring me some peace. Sometimes I wonder if my optimistic spirit is a gift or a curse. Because sometimes I didn’t understand the magnitude of the trials I was going through.

Some of them life threatening. But that was nothing but God because if I knew how bad it really was, I might have quit. I might have given up. But as God protected Daniel in the lions den, God protected me from my own thoughts.

Because I believe everyone listening has been through some trials. Some hurtful moments. Some times that you just felt like giving up. But you are still here, you are still persevering, and you are still living. As the scripture states that you will wear the crown of life!

And today, I am living, I am grateful, and I give thanksgiving to God for bringing me through. But sometimes, when I am alone, I realize how much pressure I was really under, how trying those trials were. And it is only through the Grace of God that I am here right now.

When it comes to your finances, are you under trial? Is God putting you through a test?

If so, I encourage you to weather the storm. But remember, you don’t have to go through it alone. Moses had Aaron, Jesus had the apostles, and Adam had Eve.

It says in In Proverbs 15:22- Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Meaning that without the help of someone who knows, what you seek out may not come to fruition as you see fit, but if you seek out the help of many counsellors, your plans will come into fruition.

What are you struggling with financially? How many people have you reached out to receive guidance? Or have you simply tried to “handle it” yourself?

Today, I want you to identify the financial problem that is causing you to go through this trial. Then I want you to find 3 people that can help. It can be a CPA, a lawyer, a financial advisor, a friend, a bank, a family member, or even a book that you read. But I want you to take the first step in trying to get THROUGH this trial instead of simply trying to manage it. I want you to pray to God for perseverance

Prayer: Lord, help me through this trying time. I will seek help, I will seek counselors, and I will seek your guidance. I want to wear the crown of life. I want to persevere. I want to prosper, and I want to have financial freedom.
