I know many of you are recovering from yesterday's festivities. If my experience has taught me anything about mothers and motherly figures, is that they come in all types of dynamics. We have mothers who bear children, we have mothers who adopt children, we have mothers whose pets are their children, we have mothers who had, and have lost their children, we have mothers who lost children during the process of becoming a mother, we have mothers who care for their nieces, nephews and extended family as their own, and we have single/married/divorced/ and widowed mothers. So when we say Happy Mother's Day, we want all those who embody the essence of motherhood to be celebrated. And we understand that the celebration of one type of mother, doesn't take away from the glory of another. Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate the bridge between God and humanity. The pathway, by which all men and women are birthed. And it is how life as we know it, has been created, nurtured, and inspired... by the love given by a woman. So this Monday after Mother's Day, we want to celebrate the contributions and impact of women all over the world.
